About us
Terre des Hommes Suisse is a non-profit organisation, with no political or religious affiliations, and which pursues two objectives:
- Improvement of living conditions of under-privileged populations in the South. with special emphasis on women and children, through various development or emergency relief programmes carried out with local partners.
- Raising public awareness (especially of young people) of the causes of disparities between North and South.
Terre des Hommes Switzerland has two sections, one based in Geneva, the other in Basle. In French-speaking Switzerland the section works with both salaried personnel and volunteers, but places a high importance on the volunteer aspect of its work.
