Reasons to spare some time for TdH

One particularity of Terre des Hommes Suisse is the responsibility the movement confides to its dozens of voluntary workers, seconded by professionals where necessary. Thus a permanent team of 14 people, the equivalent of 10.2 full-time posts, works side-by-side with the volunteers.

Voluntary Service is very important to Terre des Hommes Suisse. Fifty or so voluntary workers, men and women, young and not so young, fill high level posts and devote 5 to 20 hours a week to the movement.

Whether it be in Project management, information or fund raising, in the secretariat, the crafts unit, the organisation of events, etc., the choice of relying on volunteers to carry out these tasks is a choice which TdHS has made. There are indeed many people concerned by the plight of women and children in the South and who want to use their skills to advance a cause that is dear to them, and this with professionalism, loyalty and good will.
