Rewarding voluntary commitment
The specificity of Terre des Hommes Suisse is that we entrust our occasional and regular volunteers with responsibilities.
Founded by volunteers in 1966 and managed by them for over twelve years, Terre des Hommes Suisse has confirmed its decision to trust its volunteers with many tasks and responsibilities. Our team of 17 permanent members supervises over 80 volunteers – men and women of all ages – working 3 to 20 hours a week for our movement. They accept the responsibility to fulfil a commitment they freely undertake according to their possibilities, their skills and the association’s needs. Volunteers regularly cooperate with the permanent employees inside our three departments: Projects, Communication-Fundraising-Events and Administration.
Many people concerned about the issues faced by underprivileged women and children, are eager to offer their skills and professionalism, their fidelity and heart.
You are that kind of person and would like to learn more?
You can participate in one of our information meetings, they are open to everyone and commitment-free. Meetings take place on Thursdays. The dates for 2013 are: January 31st, March 21st, April 25th, June 13th and September 19th from 7:00PM to 8:30PM. The address is: chemin Frank-Thomas 31, 1223 Cologny, inside the Pré-Picot school buildings.
It is best to fill-out the registration form available under the volunteer positions section. See our volunteer positions available.
To organize the different events of Terre des Hommes Suisse (The “Marche de l’Espoir” in October, The paper handkerchief sale in March), over 1 200 occasional volunteers donate their time on evenings and week-ends. When we participate in an event (Festival du Développement Durable, Fête de l'espoir, Nuit de la Science, Paléo Festival, handicrafts sale, etc), they are present on the information, awareness-raising and fundraising stands of the organization, under the supervision of our managers. They hold the stands on thematic events – dealing with children’s rights, international solidarity, or else – in which Terre des Hommes Suisse participates. During all these events, our stands are held by volunteers, under the supervision of a manager.
Would you like to join our mailing list?
